Transportation

Many providers listed below offer nonemergency transportation for medical appointments, to and from nursing homes and hospitals, for holiday or special- occasion visits, and other trips. Some hospitals, eye doctors, medical, rehabilitation, or other providers offer free transportation for patients or clients to/from their facilities. Private pay; TennCare, when applicable.

KAT’s paratransit service transports passengers with disabilities (as defined by ADA), Mon.-Sun., same hours as buses. Passengers must be certified before riding. Fare is $3 per one-way trip. Guests also pay fare; Personal Care Attendants ride free. Service is door to door within service area. Trip must be scheduled at least one day in advance.

Knox County CAC Transit provides accessible door-to-door transportation services to the residents of Knoxville and Knox County who live outside the KAT service area, Monday through Saturday between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.  Rides must be scheduled no later than 11:00 a.m. the day before your appointment.  Office hours for scheduling are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  Knox County CAC provides limited employment transportation twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.  All fares are $2.00 per person each way.  The fare does not apply to customers that qualify for other contract services with CAC Transit. | Website »
