Respite

Respite is short-term relief for caregivers by providing a trained substitute, in or outside the home. Adult day services and personal support services agencies provide respite. Some nursing homes, assisted care living facilities, and residential homes for the aged offer weekend and vacation respite, but space, especially in nursing facilities, often is limited. Private pay; some long-term care plans cover respite.
