UT Hospice

Hospice is available to nursing home residents and hospital patients. Some nursing homes offer hospice by contract with a home health care agency, or the resident or family may contact an agency themselves. Ask nursing home staff about arrangements. Hospice patients who meet criteria can be admitted to a hospital transitional care unit on doctor’s orders, if care of a patient is more than family can manage.
