Support Groups
The Mental Health Association of East TN, Inc. (584-9125), keeps a list of support groups, including those related to family caregiving, stroke, heart disease, arthritis, bereavement, low vision, and mental health, as well as a variety of support groups that might be helpful, but are not specific, to senior citizens and their caregivers. If you are looking for a senior-citizen-related support group, you can also check with Senior Citizens Information & Referral Service, O’Connor Senior Center, churches and synagogues, hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health care agencies, and other people or organizations that serve senior citizens.
