Rehabilitation services include physical, occupational, respiratory, cardio-, and other kinds of therapy. People suffering from stroke, arthritis, neurological disorders, spinal cord and brain injuries, or recovering from joint replacements, injuries, or some surgical procedures may require rehabilitation services.
There are many providers of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. Therapy can be provided on an inpatient basis in nursing homes and hospitals. Outpatient rehabilitation services are also available from home health care agencies, nursing homes, and private therapists. A doctor must prescribe; patient may choose provider. Medicare, TennCare, private insurance, private pay.
