Now that spring is here, we’ll soon be spending more time outdoors. Here are a few safety tips for the exterior of your home.

Use container gardens on patios and decks.
Ensure that hanging plants are easily accessible for watering and pruning.
Install lever-type handles on outside faucets.
Check that hoses do not cause a tripping hazard.
Ensure that landscaping does not pose a security threat; prune bushes from window areas.
Remove landscaping that is no longer manageable.
Install edging along sidewalks.
Replace ladders and other yard equipment that is no longer in good repair.
