Home Repair Program provides free home repairs—such as re-shingling roofs, painting, building ramps, and other minor home repairs—to low-income homeowners of Knoxville. Recipients of services must own and live in the house being repaired and must meet income guidelines. Recruits and coordinates volunteers to make home repairs.

In-home assessment, case management, and referral to services. Volunteers make limited minor home repairs and safety modifications for older adults who meet eligibility requirements. No fees; contributions accepted.
Utility Companies
Contact your utility company to see if it has low- or no-interest loans for home improvements such as upgrading water/ sewer connections, repairing or replacing septic tanks, and installing more efficient heating or air-conditioning equipment.

Both programs are free and have eligibility requirements. Weatherization offers whole-house weatherizing to low-income homeowners and renters to reduce long-term energy costs. Home Repair offers low- and moderate-income homeowners and renters limited help with minor home repairs related to health and safety or with building wheelchair-accessible ramps. Limited help available for low-income renters with accessibility needs.
