For Knox County residents who cannot afford them, program provides low-cost eye and hearing exams, eyeglasses, and hearing aids for people age 50+, and low-cost dentures for seniors age 60+ (no extractions, routine dental maintenance, or restorative work). No initial charge to participants, who repay cost over time based on ability to pay. Joint program of Knoxville-Knox County Council on Aging and Senior Citizens Information & Referral Service.

Free care from cooperating ophthalmologists for U.S. citizens age 65+ with medical eye problems (not eyeglasses) who have not seen an eye doctor in the last three years and who do not have HMO coverage, a Managed Health Plan, or VA coverage.

Eye Services with Transportation

Ask your physician whether he or she can help if you need transportation.

St. Mary’s Care Van for Seniors provides transportation to the following two eye doctors’ offices. Patient must be a member of St. Mary’s PrimeLife for Seniors. Donations accepted; can register by phone.
