Medical Equipment & Supplies
The following nonprofit organizations offer home medical equipment on loan for those unable to buy or rent; items available on limited basis. Some churches and other nonprofit agencies sometimes have medical equipment that they will give or loan to people who cannot afford these items. This is done on a limited basis. Some of the organizations listed in Medical Information also have very limited, first-come loan closets.
For for-profit businesses and organizations that sell or rent medical or hospital equipment, oxygen, and supplies for home or hospital use, see Hospital (or Medical) Equipment and Supplies in the phone book yellow pages. They bill Medicare, TennCare, and private insurance directly for the customer. Call Medicare at 1-800-633-4227 if you have questions about Medicare’s coverage of durable medical equipment.

Short- or long-term donation or loan of equipment can be requested by any senior or person with a disability who needs it but can’t afford to purchase it or has been denied insurance (including Medicare) coverage for it.
