Counseling Services
Following is a list of agencies that provide counseling free, on a sliding scale, or that bill Medicare, TennCare, or private insurance. Cost varies. For a list of other counseling resources, call the Mental Health Association of East TN, Inc., at 584-9125, or see the phone book yellow pages under Counselors, Social Workers, or Mental Health Services. For information about TennCare coverage of mental health services, see "Medical Insurance & Financing."
Many home health care agencies offer mental health services, including counseling. Some private counselors also offer in-home counseling. Call Senior Citizens Information & Referral Service, 546-6262, for a list. Nursing homes and some retirement centers and assisted living facilities (pages 106-112) can also help residents arrange counseling services. Costs are paid by resident (Medicare, TennCare, or private insurance may pay some costs).
